School Priorities

  • To ensure that Foundation GLD exceeds 75% with a focus on disadvantaged pupils achieving the expected standard in reading and writing
  • To continue to be at least 85% or better for Y1 Phonics
  • KS1 - to achieve 75% or  better, specifically for disadvantaged pupils at the expected standard in reading and greater depth in maths
  • KS2 - to achieve 75% or better for combined, specifically for greater depth writing for disadvantaged pupils and for SPaG to be at least in line with national figures

The main areas of the Whole School Action Plan are:

A)    Ensure that standards continue to improve, specifically by:

  • Building a writing community
  • Establishing the launchpad to reflect the interests and needs of FS/Y1 pupils
  • Using one-to-one tutoring to plug gaps for all pupils
  • Using prove it tasks in Geography and History to demonstrate learning
  • Using the outdoor learning areas to promote pupil health and well being across school

B) Continue to improve the teaching and learning in the foundation subjects, especially in the use of targeted questioning in each curriculum area. Ensure that school achieves the Primary Science Quality Mark Gilt standard

C)   Bring together all strands of the Personal Development curriculum - SMSC, British Values, Safeguarding, Behaviour and Attitudes, RE and RSHE using the Personal development grid
