Please find below the details of our intended transition. We aim to provide as much support as possible to our pupils while ensuring their safety. We hope that transition can go ahead, but in the event of any positive COVID cases we may have to alter these plans. If so, we will advise you as soon as we are able.
Current Foundation
A letter will be sent home with your child on Tuesday, advising you of your child’s class teacher from September.
Please refer to the letter emailed home before the holiday regarding the invite to one of your child’s transition sessions. Please email rstone@athelstan.sheffield.sch.uk if you have any queries.
Current Y1 to Y5
A letter will be sent home with your child on Tuesday, advising you of your child’s class teacher from September.
On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday next week, between 9.15 am and 10.00 am, children will meet their new teacher for the next school year.
Y6 Transition
On their secondary school transition days, please arrange to transport your child to and from their new school, wearing their Athelstan school uniform. On their transition days, your child doesn’t need to come to Athelstan first.
Your child needs to attend our school as normal, on all days other than transition days that apply to your child at their new school.
Further details are available from the information provided by your child’s new school.
Please be advised that any visits to new schools are at the discretion of the secondary school. This may mean that some schools are offering transition days and others are not. While this is not ideal, our Y6 team is liaising closely with the new schools to help support transition into Y7.
