  • Spring Milk

    Fri 29 Nov 2019

    Spring Milk

The cost of milk for the spring term is £10.26. If you would like your child to have milk after the Christmas holiday, you will need to make an online payment through sQuid, by no later than Monday 16th December 2019.

We apologise for the short notice, however, we have been waiting for Sheffield City Council to confirm the correct price.

No late orders will be processed. We will take the payment for milk as the authority to order your child's milk for the spring term. Children who qualify for income based free school meals are entitled to free milk, and this will be ordered automatically. If your child is in Foundation, and is now 5 years of age, and you do not qualify for income based free school meals, you will need to make the above payment. If you haven’t already set up your child’s sQuid account, please speak to a member of staff in the office.

  • Read Write Inc

    Fri 22 Nov 2019
We are inviting parents/carers of all Y1 children and some Y2 children into school on Friday 29th November, to get involved in Read Write Inc.  Parents/carers should enter school with their child at the beginning of the day, and will then be taken to their Read Write Inc lesson at 9.00am for 30 minutes.  This will let you see how we teach phonics, and also give you the opportunity to speak with Mrs Watson and Mrs Rodgers afterwards, if you have any concerns about your child's progress in this area. Children in Y2 who are still doing Read Write Inc will bring a slip of paper home to let you know.  Please note that, because you will be joining a lesson, other children, including younger siblings may NOT attend and alternative childcare must be arranged if you would like to come along. We look forward to seeing lots of you next Friday.

  • Christmas Fair Bake Off

    Fri 15 Nov 2019

Once again this year, we will be doing the ‘Athelstan Bake Off’.  There will be a prize for the best entry in KS1 and also in KS2, along with a prize for the best adult entry.  We welcome baked items such as biscuits, buns or cakes from children, parents/carers and school staff.  All items will then be sold on the baking stall at the Christmas Fair.  Entries should be dropped at the office on the morning of the Christmas Fair, no later than 12 noon. Please name your entries, along with the class name for children, and also your tin/box, so we can ensure that these come back to you. Winners will be notified at the Christmas Fair.  If you don't want to enter the Bake Off but would like to bake, we would appreciate any donations.

  • Christmas Raffle Tickets

    Fri 15 Nov 2019

Each child has today been sent home with two books of raffle tickets. Tickets are £1 each. We ask that all ticket stubs, along with cash, are returned in an envelope to the office or direct to your child's class teacher before 2pm on Friday 6th December. The raffle will be drawn at the Christmas Fair. More tickets, if required, can be obtained via the office.

The top prize up for grabs is a £100 Meadowhall gift voucher, along with tickets to sporting events, shopping vouchers, family days out, hampers, beauty treatments, bottles of wine and boxes of chocolates, to name a few. We have more and more prizes coming each day.

We ask you to try and sell as many tickets as possible to family, neighbours, friends and work colleagues. The more tickets we sell, the more money we will make for our school and children!
