  • Attendance

    Fri 19 Nov 2021
    • If your child is going to be absent from school, please telephone the office before 9.30am, each day.
    • We do encourage parents/carers to leave a message on our absence line (0114    269 2301 and press option 2) as this is checked throughout the day. Please leave your child’s name, class and the nature of their illness.
    • If your child has had sickness or diarrhoea, they will need to be off school for 48 hours from the last bout.
    • If you or your child have symptoms which you are concerned may be Covid related, please book a PCR test immediately instead of carrying out a LFT at home. Please call the NHS on 119 if you require any advice.
      • If your child has been absent from school due to having a Covid test and you are unable to contact us by telephone, please email enquiries@athelstan.sheffield.sch.uk as soon as possible to let us know whether the test is positive or negative. Thank you.
  • Anti-Bullying Week

    Fri 12 Nov 2021

Anti-Bullying Week starts on Monday and we are having an odd sock day, so wear whatever odd socks you have! We will also be joining in with a BBC live lesson. The children will have an opportunity to create a poster - either at home or at school. If there is enough time, there will be photos taken of the posters to upload to the BBC media page.

Also, as an activity for this fun week, we will make an ‘Eye Spy Kindness’ box\envelope for children to put a note in when they have seen someone do a kind act towards anyone else. If classes choose to, they could keep this up after this week and share them at the end of each day.

Next week will be very exciting for all the children around the school.

  • Children in Need 2021

    Fri 12 Nov 2021

On Friday 19th November, we are holding a non-uniform fancy dress day, when children can wear anything: dress up clothes, pyjamas, or even just some Pudsey ears. A donation of £1 would be greatly appreciated; children can give this to their child’s class teacher.

Children in Y1-Y6 will also have the chance to win an awesome joke book. They can do this by guessing how many pages are in the book. It will be 50p for a guess.

    • Y3 and Y1 will be visited on Tuesday and Thursday
    • Y2 and Y4 on Monday and Wednesday
    • Y6 Monday and Tuesday
    • Y5 will be Wednesday and Thursday

On these days, members from the student council will visit your children to give them the chance of entering the competition.

If they would like to enter the competition, please can children bring their money to school in a named envelope.
