  • Track and Trace over the Spring Bank Holiday Period

    Thu 27 May 2021

Please remember that if you need to report a positive case, between Friday 28th May and Wednesday 2nd June you must contact school via our enquiries@athelstan.sheffield.sch.uk email address. You should leave your child’s full name and class, the date they were last in school, the date they became symptomatic and the date they took the test.  Despite it being the holidays, this email address will be checked daily at 10am from Friday 28th May to Wednesday 2nd June.

If your child is identified as a contact of a positive case during this six-day period, you will be advised by text and email of the isolation period, this may mean that your holiday plans are affected as your child would need to self-isolate. Please note, you will not be contacted by phone. We recognise that this is not the news that anyone wants to hear but it is vital that we act on any cases that occur in our community so we stop any further spread of the virus.

Our aim, once we have checked the enquiries@ email address at 10am each morning, is to send the email and text by 11am on the same day.

After this period, from 10am on Wednesday 2nd June, school should not be contacted; parents and carers should instead follow contact tracing instructions provided by NHS test and trace. This will remain in place until we return to school on Monday 7th June.

Fingers crossed that we don’t have to contact any of you and that we can all have a restful holiday!

  • Heroes Stamp Design Art Competition

    Fri 21 May 2021

Our school is delighted to be taking part in the national art competition from Royal Mail, to honour the heroes of the coronavirus pandemic. Eight pupils from primary and secondary schools across the UK will become the designers of the new stamp set and their stamp design will appear on millions of parcels and letters! Her Majesty The Queen will approve the winning stamp designs before they are printed and issued. There are also 120 other prizes to be won.

The templates have been sent home this week to the children who would like to take part. Please return the templates no later than Tuesday 25th May. A place for the templates will be allocated in your child's classroom so that they can be quarantined before they are posted. We look forward to seeing your stamp designs! • School Behaviour and E-Safety Policies

    Fri 07 May 2021

We have had an increasing number of issues, which have arisen out of school on TikTok. We have therefore adapted the school behaviour and e-safety policies to include issues that may arise from gaming or social media platforms, including unkind messages sent online between pupils. Appropriate action will be taken, including providing support and implementing sanctions in school in accordance with these policies.

    Thank you for your support.
