  • School Streets

    Fri 25 Feb 2022

We are thrilled to have been chosen to take part in this new scheme, to help improve air quality and road safety outside schools. You will find attached to our newsletter, a letter from Sheffield City Council, which explains all about 'School Streets' and the proposed trial.

  • World Book Day

    Fri 25 Feb 2022

World Book Day is on Thursday 3rd March. This year, we will all be able to celebrate together in school. Your child can come to school dressed up as their favourite character from a book and there will be prizes for the best costume. These children will also be taking part in a costume parade. There will be lots of fun activities for your child to take part in during the school day and lots of opportunities for them to read and share their favourite books with their class.

Your child will receive a £1 book token on Thursday, which they can spend on a World Book Day £1 book or put towards the cost of another book. Below is a link to a digital version of the token which can also be printed out and taken to your local bookshop to redeem.

We can't wait to celebrate World Book Day and see all your fantastic costumes.

  • A Message from our Student Council - Healthy Tuck Shop

    Fri 11 Feb 2022

The Healthy Tuck Shop will be back up and running next half term. We, the student council, will be running it on Tuesdays and Thursdays (T day for Tuck shop day). There will be 4/5 healthy snacks to munch on. The price range will be between 30-50 pence. The tuck shop will be for children in Y3 - Y6 only at playtime. If your child would like to purchase an item from the tuck shop, they will have to bring the correct money because we will not be giving out change. If the tuck shop proves successful, we will look to run it on more days.

Attached to the email, with this newsletter, are details of the ingredients of the products we will be selling.

  • Read Write Inc and Oxford Owl - Reception and Y1 Pupils and Parents/Carers

    Fri 11 Feb 2022

We are hoping to run an after-school RWInc club after the half term, for parents/carers to join their child in school to learn about phonics and access Oxford Owl for online reading and quizzes. These sessions will be held between 3 pm and 4 pm every Monday in the Launchpad (running from Monday 28th February to Monday 28th March) and would be most beneficial for those pupils in the Ditty, Red, Green and Purple groups. To register your interest, please complete the Google form by following the link below by Tuesday 22nd February.  We will be in touch after half term once we have an idea of the level of interest. Unfortunately, we are unable to allow siblings to attend.

  • WOW - The Walk to School Challenge

    Fri 04 Feb 2022

WOW is one of the UK’s leading behaviour change initiatives, brought to you by Living Streets, the charity for everyday walking.

The pupil-led initiative has seen children digitally record how they get to school every day.

If they travel sustainably (walk, wheel, cycle, scoot or Park and Stride) at least once a week for a month, they get rewarded with a WOW badge.

We are pleased to say that the first badges were given out to some children last week. We are hoping that there will be lots more given out next month too!
