  • Christmas Jumper day

    Fri 27 Nov 2020

On Friday 11th December, we will be having a non-uniform Christmas Jumper Day for Save the Children. If your child has a PE lesson on this day, they do not need to wear their PE kit.

If you would like to make a donation, Miss Thornsby and the Student Council have set up a JustGiving page for you to donate safely:

  • School Milk

    Fri 27 Nov 2020

You are now able to order milk for the spring term (4th January – 1st April 2021).

The cost of milk for this period is £11.02. If you would like your child to have milk after the Christmas holiday, you will need to make an online payment through sQuid, by Friday 11th December 2020.

No late orders will be processed. We will take the payment for milk as the authority to order your child's milk.

Children who qualify for income based free school meals are entitled to free milk and this will be ordered automatically. If your child is in Foundation, and is now 5 years of age, and you do not qualify for income based free school meals, you will need to make the above payment. If you haven’t already set up your child’s sQuid account, please speak to a member of staff in the office.

  • Parents/Carers' Evening

    Fri 13 Nov 2020

As you can appreciate, parents/carers’ evenings will need to be a little different this year, due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation.  To minimise the number of visitors to school, class teachers will be contacting parents/carers by telephone instead to discuss your child’s progress and work.

Please refer to the letter, which has been emailed home today, for full details of how to arrange your telephone call.

  • Your School Lottery

    Fri 06 Nov 2020

A big thank you to the parents and carers, who continue to buy tickets for our weekly school lottery, during this difficult time.

So far, since we launched our lottery in July 2019, you have helped to raise over £1000, which enabled us to buy our own portable stage at the end of last year.

We have had many lucky winners, with weekly cash prizes of between £15 and £20.

The more tickets we sell, the bigger the cash prize, and the more money school will receive.

Tickets cost just £1 per week and 40% of all ticket sales goes straight to school, with a guaranteed cash prize (30% of ticket sales) for one of Athelstan’s supporters every week.  There is also a chance every week of winning £25,000 in the national draw.

If you are able to support us and buy your ticket before the 19th December, you are also in with a chance of winning a Nintendo Switch Mega Bundle.

To buy a lottery ticket and help raise funds for school, please see the information attached to this newsletter or visit https://www.yourschoollottery.co.uk/lottery/school/athelstan-primary-school

    Thank you for your support.

Children in Need - Friday 13th November

It’s back! Children in Need day is almost here once again. We are going to have a non uniform day, and if you like, you can dress up ‘spotty’. If your child has a PE lesson on this day, they do not need to wear their PE kit.

We have set up a JustGiving page so we can donate safely:

    https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/athelstanprimary-schoolchildreninneed

Please do not send cash donations to school.

    Thank you for your support,

    Sarin and Sadie (School Council)
