• HSA Christmas Fair

  Thank you to everyone who attended and supported the Christmas Fair and bought raffle tickets. With your help, we raised and incredible £3,300!! It’s an absolutely amazing amount of money, which will provide additional resources for our school and children.  We will update you with our plans in the coming weeks and months. 
  
  We were amazed yet again with the creativity of the children who entered the Bake Off; we have some very talented bakers.  
  
  We want to say a huge thank you to all our members, who work so hard in the lead up and on the day, to ensure that everything is perfect and you all have a fantastic experience. The amount of time and dedication put in by these members makes us incredibly proud to be a part of Team Athelstan. School staff also play a large part in assisting the HSA, so thank you for your help.
  
  Local companies were again extremely generous in donating prizes this year, for which we are extremely grateful, as without them, the raffle wouldn't be possible. We actually had over 75 prizes up for grabs.  Everyone who won a raffle prize has now been contacted.

  PURPLE:       Halal roast chicken, Quorn chipolata sausage, roast potatoes, stuffing, peas and carrots

  GREEN:        Quorn roast, Quorn chipolata sausage, roast potatoes, stuffing, peas and carrots

  DESSERT:     Shortbread Biscuit

   

  There will not be a jacket potato or grab bag option on this day.

  There will also be a ‘lucky plate’, with a prize for the winner in each year group.

• Art Competition

  Schools across Sheffield and beyond have been invited to submit their artwork to celebrate the Chinese New Year! Your task is to create an A4 sized picture of the Chinese Zodiac of the Year 2020 - the Rat. Mrs Taylor will be choosing the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners and submitting the artwork to Sheffield City Hall. First prize winners will be awarded a prize by the Lord Mayor of Sheffield. Second and third prize winners will also receive a prize from the Registration Desk.  

  The Sheffield Chinese New Year Show will be at Sheffield City Hall, Barkers Pool, S1 2JA from 4:00pm-6:45pm (Pre-Show and FREE admission) and 7:00pm-8:45pm (Main Show), Monday 27th January 2020. The competition is open to Y1-Y6 children and all artwork must be an original with the child's name, year group and school on the back. The deadline for the competition is Monday 13th January, so you have over a month to create some wonderful artwork! Just remember to put your full name and class at the back of your A4 artwork and hand it in to your class teacher. Good Luck!

• Our New Stage!

  We applied for, and were successful in securing a grant from One Stop Shop's 'Carriers for Causes' fund. Together with this funding, and the money that Our School Lottery will generate this year, we have been able to purchase our own portable stage to use for performances and drama in school. We hired one last year for the Y1 performance, so it is great we now own our own.
