  • Lateral Flow Tests

    Fri 23 Apr 2021

Anyone in England can now get regular rapid lateral flow tests without having symptoms.

Details how to order tests can be found at

    https://www.gov.uk/order-coronavirus-rapid-lateral-flow-tests

Lateral flow tests should only be used if you do not have symptoms. If you do a lateral flow test and receive a positive result, you should book a PCR test as soon as possible.  You should also advise school; do not wait until you have the PCR results.

If you have any of the following symptoms, get a PCR test immediately; do not use a lateral flow test:

    ·         a high temperature

    ·         a new, continuous cough

    ·         a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste

  • Track and Trace over the Easter Holidays

    Thu 01 Apr 2021

Similar arrangements to what happened over the Christmas holiday period will be in place for almost the first full week of the Easter break.

Please remember that if you need to report a positive case, between Friday 2nd April and Wednesday 7th April you must contact school via our enquiries@athelstan.sheffield.sch.uk email address. You should leave your child’s full name and class, the date they became symptomatic and the date they took the test.  It would also be really helpful to describe your child’s symptoms as this is something that we have to record on our paperwork. Despite it being the holidays, this email address will be checked daily at 10am from Friday 2nd of April to Wednesday 7th April.

If your child is identified as a contact of a positive case during this six-day period, you will be advised by text and email of the isolation period and may mean that your Easter holiday plans are affected as your child would need to self-isolate. Please note, you will not be contacted by phone.

Our aim, once we have checked the enquiries@ email address at 10am each morning, is to send the email and text by 11am on the same day.

After this period, after 10am on Wednesday 7th April, school should not be contacted; parents and carers should instead follow contact tracing instructions provided by NHS test and trace. This will remain in place until we return to school on Monday 19th April.
